It is the vision of the University of Illinois College of Medicine to achieve a diverse and world-class faculty.
To create an institutional climate and environment in which the faculty and its leadership reflect the gender and ethnic profile of the College of Medicine's student body in order to achieve excellence in research, teaching, and patient care, so that the College of Medicine attracts and retains a world-class and diverse faculty.

“Planning and Negotiating YourWay to Success” - FAAC Workshop 2014
More than seventy junior women and under-represented minority faculty attended a workshop titled “Planning and Negotiating Your Way to Success” on March 19, 2014. The event, which was held at the Chicago Marriott at Medical District, was sponsored by the Faculty Academic Advancement Committee (FAAC), and the Office of Diversity and the Office of Faculty Affairs at the College of Medicine, University of Illinois. Nearly thirty senior faculty members, including Usha Raj, MD, Chair of FAAC, were speakers and facilitators of groups that were designed for specific tracks. The keynote speaker was Diane Magrane, MD, Executive Director of the International Center for Executive Leadership in Academics at the Drexel University College of Medicine.
